Boot Leggings are used under the riding boot to prevent irritation from rubbing against the riders skin. Leggings are typically made of Lycra, thick ecru cotton, or polyester. They pull on right over the rider's legs, covering the entire area fitting from above the ankle to below the knee. Boots or jeans go on easily over them. They are light in weight for extra efficiency (especially for jockeys) and they offer perfect protection against abrasions.
